Hyunsik and Seokgyu won the Korea Display Association President Award 2020
Our lab member, Hyunsik Kim and Seokgyu Ko won the Korea Display Association President Award in "Wearable Smart Device Idea Contest". In the contest, they proposed a smart sanitary pad for detecting follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) which cause polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and ovarian cyst. In menstrual blood, there are many biomarkers such as FSH and cortisol. Among them, FSH has not only similar concentration but also correlation of menstrual blood and normal blood. The proposed smart sanitary pad consists of low cost flexible sensor made up of carbon electrodes on flexible substrate which can detect FSH using immune system.
