A Flexible and Stretchable Triboelectric Self-Powered Sensor for Human Motion Monitoring

In this work, we newly developed a flexible and stretchable self-powered sensor (SWSS) based on triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for human motion monitoring. Recently, the MOF (metal-organic based framework) have been researched actively in various purpose for catalysis, sensing, gas storage and separation, drug delivery, and energy conversion and storage. Herein, NPCO (nanoporous cobalt oxide)/silicone and MXene/silicone based TENG was newly fabricated. Due to their microscopic dipole and conductive properties, MXene has been incorporated into silicon to improve dual functions, including charge trapping and charge transport capabilities of the intermediate composite layer. As a result, NPCO/silicon functions as a charge generating layer, and MXene/silicon functions as a bifunctional intermediate layer. This research not only shows a remarkable result in flexible, stretchable, and wearable nanogenerators, but also paves the way for selfpowered stretchable and wearable sensors for human motion monitoring.
