A FREE MOTION DRIVEN ELECTROMAGNETIC AND TRIBOELECTRIC HYBRIDIZED NANOGENERATOR FOR SCAVENGING LOW FREQUENCY VIBRATIONS

We have proposed and experimentally validated a free motion driven hybridized electromagnetic (EM) and triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for scavenging low frequency ambient vibrations with a dual Halbach array, nano-structured PTFE, and Al nano-grass. Hence, the proposed hybrid nanogenerator structure with free motion was newly designed to have a non-resonant behavior in which the output power continuously increases with the input frequency and amplitude. The Halbach magnet array enhances the magnetic flux density and reduces the overall volume as well as high power generation at low frequency operation. To obtain much higher output power generation in low amplitude and low frequency vibrations, the proposed hybrid nanogenerator has utilized a dual Halbach array fabricated with TENG. The fabricated hybrid energy harvester delivered an output power of 3.1mW, corresponding to a volume power density of 193W/m 3 under a loading resistance of 700Ω at 5Hz frequency and 0.5g acceleration, respectively.
